Saferwaters have just released a day-in-the-life music video to go with their song, “Unfulfilled.” The song is the first track on their new EP, Honestly, which you can check out here. You can expect more from the band very soon, but until then, see what life on the road is like for these Florida dudes.
Terror, one of the most well known and respected hardcore bands around, have released their new EP The Walls Will Fall and it quite literally crushes. Though it is only five songs – including a cover of Madball‘s “Step To You” – the EP emits just as much energy and passion as any of their full-lengths.
What makes The Walls Will Fall such a great addition to Terror’s discography is that it is both more accessible than their earlier material while also being as hard as ever. Because it is just an EP, it is a breath of fresh air and just enough for Terror fans to get their fix. This length works for them extremely well, bringing out the best of old school hardcore: quick, brutal and to the point.
Five piece metalcore act Ellipses hailing from Litchfield, CT are exclusively premiering their EP Human right here at HXC. The six song release, featuring their unforgiving single “Harsh Upbringings,” is a proud display of unrelenting emotion. Despite it being early in their career, this band already bring memorable breakdowns and impressive shredding to the table. While the low-toned screaming and growling gives the band an intensely heavy sound, they are able to find just the right moments to sneak in melodic riffs, making for a dynamic listening experience.

Miami-based metalcore band Acaedia have partnered with us to bring you their newest single, “Risktaker”! Following their previous EP, Dawning, “Risktaker” is a standalone single to keep fans hyped as they work on writing a new EP for 2017. The new song was mixed and mastered by Andrew Wade (A Day To Remember, Wage War, Neck Deep), and if this is the first you’re hearing of these guys, you’ll definitely want to hear more after this. You can also watch their music video for “Rotten” here.
Stick To Your Guns‘ latest release, Better Ash Than Dust, picks up exactly where their last full-length, Disobedient, left off. In effect, the new EP is an extension of the previous record; there is very little that differentiates the two as separate works other than time.
The five piece Stages delivers a refreshing take on metalcore with their debut EP New War. The whole thing doesn’t play like the work of newcomers. It’s reminiscent of some of the genre’s finest acts at their best. There are also slight notes of death metal with a hint of progressive and a strong aftertaste of “fuck, yeah!”
The most powerful song is the last on the release and the title track, which also features Exotype’s Steven McCorry. The deep, low, savage growls over the high, distant sounding keyboard strokes creates a devastatingly chilling sound. It is a grotesque perversion of the traditionally beautiful sound of the keys by the violence of the screams. It truly is warlike. Stages has crafted a phenomenal EP that deserves your attention.
Hardcore powerhouse Stick To Your Guns have just signed to Pure Noise Records. Along with the announcement, they’ve released their first single since their 2015 record Disobedient, and it’s a banger full of social and political commentary like you’ve come to expect from the band. The song, “Universal Language,” was released by the band with the following statement:
Something You Whisper have premiered a music video for their new track “Scream My Name” which will be on the upcoming deluxe edition of the Beautiful Sins EP, out July 15th. This live performance video takes place in one of those awesome venues where there’s graffiti covering just about every square inch of the walls, which gives an awesome visual backdrop. You can get the new single here.
Detroit is still producing American made things these days. The latest export from the Motor City is a boiling maelstrom of old school hardcore for today’s problems. Turncoat is true to the ideals of the scene holding nothing back in their self titled debut EP. The need for self-respect, hard work, and honesty is thrown in your face, while the disenchantment in the delusion of the American Dream is shoved down your throat.
The Funeral Portrait recently released a lyric video for their stand alone single “Meanwhile,” and it’s probably the best song they’ve written to date. While fans are still waiting on TFP’s next record (to follow their EP For The Dearly Departed), the appropriately titled single can keep you more than satisfied in the meantime. If this is what a one-off single sounds like, we certainly can’t wait to hear what TFP have in store for us next.
